Congregants to Rally Together for Darfur.........posted Apr 16, 2006
TI's Social Action Committee is asking congregants young and old to join together in a rally supporting the Darfur region of the Sudan on Sunday, April 30. TI members are asked to congregate that day at 12:30 p.m. at the entrance to the Twinbook Metro station in order to travel together. Teen-age students in TI's religious school have been excused from class in order to attend the Save Dafur Rally on the Mall with family members and friends. Larry Cohen, co-chair of the Social Action Committee, hopes for a large turnout of TI members. TI is also participating with other regional synagogues in the Million Voices for Darfur campaign, which is a part of the Save Darfur Coalition, the organization promoted by the banner displayed prominently at the entrance of TI's driveway. |
