Hopeful Talkers Open Their Doors.........posted Dec 18, 2006The synagogue's toastmasters club, Hopeful Talkers, will hold an open house from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Thurs., Jan. 11 at the synagogue. Watch both beginners and experts deliver 5- to 7-minute speeches and have those speeches evaluated by other club members. Also hear members give mini-speeches extemporaneously for one to two minutes. Guests can participate in this exercise too if they wish. Light snacks will be offered. "See why toastmasters is not just about making speeches, but also about having fun and developing your mind," says John Melmed, who chairs the Hopeful Talkers.
