Tikvat Israel's men's basketball team ran into a team with a pair of players 6-foot-6 or taller and fell to the unbeaten B'nai Shalom Purple 104-60.
TI dropped to 0-5 in the Montgomery County synagogue basketball league.
David Blum was TI's top scorer, though individual statistics weren't available from TI Coach Warren Berger. He reported that several others also scored "significant amounts:" Marc Schneider, Al Sandler and Damon Ehrlich.
"We only had seven players and they had lots of fast breaks," said Berger, who is counting on his team to rebound during the final three games of the regular season. The plays its games on Sunday mornings at Paint Branch HS in Burtonsville.
