TI Teen Cited for Jewish Culture Club Role.........posted Jun 25, 2006
Hannah Bachman, a rising senior at at Richard Montgomery High School, recently received a Kochavim ("stars") award from Jewish Experiences for Teens, which is part of the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning. Hannah, daughter of TI members Debby Berlyne and Danny Bachman, received the award in recognition of her role in helping create a Jewish culture club at her school. The award also recognized Hannah's receipt of a Jewish Federation-sponsored Israel Quest scholarship (to which Tikvat Israel also contributed) for her upcoming trip to Israel with Young Judaea. To earn the Israel Quest scholarship, Hannah has continued her Jewish education at Tikvat Israel beyond her Bat Mitzvah year, was active in the Tikvat Israel chapter of USY, attended Capital Camps and read Torah and Haftarah at Shabbat morning services. She is the incoming president of Tikvat Israel's USY Chapter. |
