High School Graduates Feted at TI.........posted May 16, 2006

TI traditionally honors its high school graduates at a Shabbat service each spring.

On May 13, 19 seniors at high schools throughout Montgomery County were honored. Eleven of them led portions of the Shabbat morning service. In addition, 12 families sponsored a Kiddush in the social hall following the service.

Those participating in the Shabbat service were as follows:

  • Melissa Apter, daughter of Susan and Alan Apter - University of Maryland
  • Rebecca Benzion - daughter of Lynne and Ira Benzion will be traveling in Turkey for a year
  • David Bronstein, son of Marcia Bronstein - St. John's College of Annapolis
  • Mark Glucksman-Glaser, son of Genie Glucksman and Joseph Glaser - University of Maryland
  • Abby Goldman, daughter of Rebecca Salon and Jay Goldman - Mount Holyoke College
  • Benjamin Hersh, son of Giselle and David Hersh - School of Communication Arts
  • Jessica Kirschner, son of Brigitte and Jonathan Kirschner - Ithaca College
  • Josh Levine, son of Debbie and Jason Levine - UMBC
  • Tamar Miller, daughter of Betsy and Jeff Miller will be traveling in Tanzania, Central America, Israel and India (then college in Canada in 2007)
  • Rebecca Miller, daughter of Gabriela Miller - Brandeis University
  • Issac Sherrod, son of Rhonda and Steve Sherrod - Montgomery College

Other high school graduates are:

  • Daniel Belkin, son of Ann Hellerstein and Samuel Belkin - NYU
  • Marnina Cowan, daughter of Bonnie and Elliot Cowan - Brandeis University
  • Scott Kronzek, son of Andi and Sheldon Kronzek - University of Maryland
  • Adam Mendelevitz - son of Louise Berke and Michael Mendelevitz - Indiana University
  • Noah Mitchel, son of Peggy Mitchel - Hofstra University
  • Noah Turkewitz - son of Molly and Stuart Turkewitz - Temple University.

In addition, 11 members of TI will be graduating from college this spring with undergraduate and graduate degrees. Most have not yet participated in commencement exercises and won't be in attendance at TI.
