Fishman Talks His Way to Twin Titles.........posted Sep 12, 2006

Tikvat Israel congregant Cliff Fishman delivered a highly entertaining speech to take first place in the Hopeful Talkers' Humorous Speech Contest at the synagogue recently.

Fishman also won the club's Extemporaneous Speech Contest. He now will compete against the winners of five other clubs in both contest categories at 7 p.m. on Tues, Sept 26, at the Sandy Spring Bank, 17801 Georgia Ave., Olney. TI members are encouraged to turn out in support of TI's winner.

Fishman, a past president of Tikvat Israel, is a professor of law at Catholic University. He is considered one of the nation's top experts on electronic privacy and surveillance law.

Hopeful Talkers is the name of the Toastmasters International chapter at Tikvat Israel. It holds regular club meetings every second and fourth Thursday at 8 p.m. in the synagogue library. All are welcome.

Further details about the club are available from John Melmed, chapter president, at jrmelmed@comcast.net.
