TI wants to know what you think!!.........posted Jan 3, 2007

Scholar's Weekend is coming up in a few months, and the Adult Education Committee is pleased to be able to offer a variety of topics that our scholar-in-residence, Rabbi Jeffrey Hoffman, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Jewish Literature at the Jewish Theological Seminary, is offering.

Of course, we'd like to hear him discuss each of the six topics, but there's only time in the weekend to cover three, so go to http://tikvatisrael.org/poll/education/adult/ and submit your choices. Please, only one vote per person, and you are able to select up to three choices per vote. Since many congregants live in families that share computers, we are not blocking a computer that has submitted a vote, so this is on the honor system.

Secondly, our blog has been somewhat inactive of late, and we've been considering opening up the blog to more submissions from congregants (rather than only allowing the current president and synagogue leaders to submit blog postings). So far, most of our 13 respondents have voted for an open (but civil) discussion board, so that all topics (within reason) can be shared. The option of restricting the discussion to "Synagogue and Religious Content" is a distant second, and there are no votes for "Synagogue Only". If you're interested in broadening the online presence of TI, please go to the blog, and register your vote (again, one vote per person, please!)
