TI Trio Honored for Jewish School Deeds.........posted Mar 25, 2007

The Hebrew Day Institute honored parents and staff at its recent annual gala, and three of the recipients are Tikvat Israel members.

The following congregants were cited for contributions to the school:

  • Robin Lempert of Silver Spring received the "You Make A Difference" PTO Apple Award as the employee of the year;
  • Naomi Kaplan of Rockville took the "You Make A Difference" PTO Apple Award for years of dedicated service; and
  • Susan Meiselman of Rockville captured the "You Make A Difference" PTO Apple Award as volunteer of the year.
Ironically, the Hebrew Day Institute staff member overseeing the awards program is a new member of Tikvat Israel, having joined in fall 2006. Renee Salzberg, HDI's advancement director, said: "It is my pleasure to highlight these amazing women."

The school event celebrated HDI's new tzedakah curriculum, "In the Tradition of Joey's Tzedakah Box."
