A member of Tikvat Israel received quite a surprise when she discovered a bylined article bearing her name appeared in the latest issue of CJ: Voices of Conservative/Masorti Judaism, the official magazine of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.

Congregation Tikvat Israel has a well-established reputation for teaching children the importance of living a full, complete Jewish life. Now the synagogue is breaking new ground toward that end. The synagogue just added two new playgrounds - one in front of the shul and the other behind the education wing.
Rabbi Howard Gorin's development work made these possible - he solicited a generous $35,000 donation for one and provided a personal loan for the other.
