Social Media Efforts at TI Spotlighted by Washington Jewish Week.........posted Jan 1, 2010

The extensive use of electronic communication at Congregation Tikvat Israel receives attention in the Dec. 30 issue of Washington Jewish Week.

The newspaper story, titled "Shuls Blog and Tweet Their Way to New Communication," directly quotes TI President Sam Freedenberg as well as Janaki Kuruppu, one of the webmasters at the synagogue, about TI's forays into the use of electronic communication.

Freedenberg, who is midway through his two-year term as the synagogue's elected head, receives the last word in the piece, quoted fittingly as saying, "We're trying to be as communicative and as cutting edge as we can be without leaving members behind."
