Men's Softballers Take 22nd Place in Synagogue League.........posted Jul 18, 2010
The 2010 season started off promising enough for the Tikvat Israel men's softball team with victories in three of the first six games. But it went downhill from there as the good guys dropped five consecutive doubleheaders (10 games) in the Montgomery County Men?s Synagogue Softball League.
TI's final won-loss record of 3-13 landed the team in 22nd place in the 24-team league, slightly ahead of the cellar-dwelling Ohr Kodesh and Shaare Torah Blue teams. TI dropped two contests to Ohr Kodesh and swept a pair from Shaare Torah during the opening weeks of the season.
TI had to forfeit its final doubleheader because of a lack of players so the team will be looking to bolster its roster in 2011. Contact Coach Wil Hochman if you might like to play in the Sunday morning league.
Four shuls tied for first in the regular season with 13-3 won-loss records.
