Spring Season of Tuv Ha-Aretz (Weekly Produce) Opens for Registration.........posted Jan 23, 2012
Community-Supported Agriculture is a mutually beneficial partnership where urban consumers receive fresh, nutritious vegetables while helping to sustain the livelihoods and stewardship of regional farmers. In a CSA arrangement the farmer pre-sells “shares” in his or her farm’s upcoming harvest to individuals, families, and institutions in the city. Tuv Ha’Aretz warmly welcomes Jewish and non-Jewish members.
The produce season runs 20 weeks -- from May 21 through Oct. 3 -- with all pickups on Mondays from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at Tikvat Israel Synagogue.
Note: Due to Jewish holidays there will be no Monday delivery on the following dates: May 28 (Shavuot), September 17 (Rosh Hashanah,) and October 1 (Sukkot). Those weeks delivery will be on Wednesdays: May 30, September 19 and October 3.
Produce Share: Farm fresh, locally grown, seasonal vegetables from Calvert Farm. The fruit will be either organic, organically grown, or grown using IPM (Integrated Pest management); non-organic apples and peaches may also be included.
