NO OTHER LAND

The Israeli Affairs Committee is hosting a showing of the 2024 Oscar winner for Best Documentary, “No Other Land” on March 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM. “No Other Land” depicts a friendship between two of the film’s directors–Yuval Avraham, an Israeli of Ashkenazi and Mizrahi descent, and Basel Adra, a Palestinian film director, lawyer and journalist–amidst the destruction of a Palestinian community in the West Bank after an Israeli “firing zone” was declared on their land. The Israel Affairs Committee believes that this is an important film that Jewish Americans should experience. A moderated discussion will follow the film. There is no charge for admission, but registration is requested. Click here to register.

NEVE SHALOM/WAHAT A-SALAM

For a more hopeful message, the committee has arranged for a webinar with two speakers from Neve Shalom/Wahat a-Salam, a mixed Jewish/Arab village in central Israel. The name means “Oasis of Peace” in both Hebrew and Arabic. According to their website, the village was founded in 1970 and “is a model of equality, mutual respect and partnership that challenges existing narratives of racism and discrimination as well as those underlying the continued conflict.” We are fortunate to have a former member of Tikvat Israel and current board member of the American Friends of Neve Shalom/Wahat a-Salam, Barbara Ridberg, to moderate the discussion. The webinar, which can be viewed at home, will be held on Sunday, April 12, at 1 PM. Details will be provided in B’Kesher.
