- Prior to the birth of a child, ask the Rabbi for assistance in selecting a Hebrew name.
- Advise the office of time and place of birth and, if a boy, the time and place of the brit milah (bris). Arrangements can be made to hold the brit in the synagogue.
- A boy is named at a brit milah. Please consult the Washington Jewish Week’s Guide to Jewish Living for the names and contact information of mohalim currently serving the area Jewish Community.
- A girl may be named in the synagogue at services where there is a Torah reading, or a Simchat Bat ceremony can be arranged.
