11-Year-old TI Member Makes Front-Page News With Her Charitable Work

Miriam Gardsbane, an 11-year-old Tikvat Israel member, was the focus of a page-one article in the June 18 Rockville edition of the Gazette.

The article, titled “Rockville girl raises more than $1,000 for elephant rescue organization,” describes how she sells clay models at area farmers market to raise money and awareness. Miriam organized an elephant rescue project called “They Deserve To Be Free.”

She is the daughter of Arlene Gardsbane.
