At its September meeting, the Tikvat Israel Board of Directors received a status report on the capital improvements plan underway at the synagogue, learning that roof repairs are largely complete.
The board also received some encouraging indicators from the membership committee about prospective members and the committee’s plans to staff a membership table at two upcoming community events in Olney.
The board, led by President Melanie Grishman, also learned on Monday night about a series of four or five folk music concerts, organized by the Institute of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park, Md., that will be staged at TI’s Flax Library in 2015-16. (See next Bulletin for more details.)
The board will hold its next meeting at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, in the Flax Library.
