Judy Davis, a congregant at TI, won gold medals in both badminton and swimming in the Maryland Senior Olympics, a competition that took place in September in Rockville and Germantown.

She won her medals in women’s badminton singles and in the 50-yard breast stroke.  Davis has competed in the Senior Olympics for seven years.

This year marked 35 years that Maryland has played a major role in promoting physical fitness and wellness awareness for the adult population, aged 50 and above.  Maryland is one of the country’s top state programs, and around 1,500 athletes competed in 23 sports and in over 140 events in this year’s Maryland Games.

Since last year, Maryland Senior Olympics’ headquarters have been back in Montgomery County after three years of being based in Baltimore.
