More than two dozen Tikvat Israel members are learning the rudiments of delivering a spellbinding D’var Torah during a four-session workshop led by Rabbi Benjamin Shull. His participatory lessons, conducted in the synagogue library, will cover how to inspire a Shabbat morning audience, how to draw meaning from the ambiguity of Torah passages, how to mine useful research from ancient commentaries and how to leave a memorable impression. Class members will collaborate on a group D’var Torah to be delivered on Shabbat morning, Feb. 27.
