Atid Learning Center Update – February 7, 2016

IMG_436406460We had a wonderful morning in our all school program. Today we focused on the subject of community. The students were split into groups, walked around the building, and wrote down things that are special to them. The groups then compared lists and we discussed why certain objects or people were written down. In the end, we came to the consensus that the people and experiences we have inside of the TI building are what make our community special.

Class Updates:

Jerusalem (K/1) & Haifa (2/3) – Ms. Limor was out today, so Jerusalem and Haifa spent the time together after break learning about the Parshat Hashavuah, Mishpatim. Mishpatim is filled with lots of laws about how to treat slaves and property. After we discussed the parasha, the classes broke into groups and acted out the different laws.

Tel Aviv (4-6) – After break the group spent some time learning with Kate. They looked over two different texts from the siddur that reference community. One was a text from the Gamara, and the other was the “Prayer for the Congregation.”
