Jerusalem (K/1) – On Sunday, we talked about parashat Tetzaveh. In the parasha, God chose Aaron and his sons to be the high preiest (Kohanim). The Kohain’s job was to complete the sacrifices and take care of the Mishkan. In the parasha, God also gives directions on the special clothing the Kohanim have to wear while they are inside the Mishkan. We talked about the breastplate that Aaron wore which had 12 stones embedded into it. Each stone represented one of the 12 tribes of Israel. Each student then made their own breastplate.
The letter of the week was Yud and our key words that start with Yud are yeladim (children), yad (hand), and yarok (green).

Haifa (2/3) – On Sunday, we focused on Hebrew. We spent a some time in the beginning of the day reviewing all of the vowel sounds we have learned and participated in some Hebrew letter yoga. We will be spending a lot of time on our Hebrew over the next couple of weeks. The class learned two new letters Tav and Tet. Both letters make the “t” sound, but look different. Our key words for the week were talit and torah.

Sunday, March 13 – All School Program Day. Atid Learning Center’s all school program day from 9:00 – 11:30 am. We will be continuing our focus on Gimilut Chasadim and how it relates to the world wide Jewish Community.
