Jerusalem (K/1) – Today in class we talked about Parashat Vayikra. The parashah tells us about how to properly conduct the sacrifecs inside the Mishkan. Each sacrifice is a burnt offering. Some offerings are of animals and other are of crops.
After break, the class listened to the story of Purim. The kids illustrated parts of the story and then shared their pictures with the rest of the class. We also played a Purim game using Hebrew letters.
Haifa (2/3) – Today in class we learned a little bit about Purim and worked on our Hebrew skills. After warming our bodies up with some Hebrew letter yoga, the class reviewed the Purim story together. Students were then asked to turn the Purim story into a comic. Each student was given a different part of the story to illustrate. After everyone was finished, the story was put in order and read out loud.
The class spent the second half of the morning reviewing the Hebrew letters and vowels we have learned so far this year. We played “Write that Sound” and Hebrew vowel twister!
