A dedicated group of volunteers, led by Alan Apter, came armed with ladders, screwdrivers and mallets to build Tikvat Israel’s back-patio sukkah on Sunday, Oct. 9. Apter’s construction helpers were Warren Berger, Rod Matheson, David Jenkins, Neil Kram, Jonathon Solomon, Amy and Dan Matathias, Josh Pollack, Harley Liebenson, Freddie Pleet, and Sandra Schwartz.

TI community members will meet to complete the sukkah at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16 by adding the s’chach (roof), lighting and decorations. The Atid students, parents and siblings will join the community in this effort by creating decorations facilitated by Atid teachers. The event will end at 11 am with fall treats generously sponsored by Louis Leibowitz.

Sukkot begins at sundown Sunday, Oct. 16 with several celebrations during the week. Notably, Thursday, Oct. 20, with Pizza in The Hut sponsored by the ECC and Oct. 21 with a Congregational Hol HaMoed Shabbat Sukkot Dinner. RSVPs are required for both events. See details here for the Congregational Hol HaMoed Shabbat Sukkot Dinner.
