Tikvat Israel’s Women’s Network gathered Sunday, Oct. 28, in the social hall for their annual membership tea. The program featured a variety of delicious chocolate desserts, including chocolate mousse cake, cranberry white chocolate coconut orange cookies, chocolate cherry scones, and triple-chocolate biscotti, prepared by Beth Smith and a cadre of volunteers. All the attendees received the recipes for these desserts. In addition, the group watched the 2010 movie, “The Dark Side of Chocolate,” a documentary that sheds light on the use of child labor and illegal trafficking of children in the Ivory Coast’s cocoa industry. The next Women’s Network event “Cultural Diversity and Our Own Jewish Cultural Expressions Beyond the Bagel” will occur December 2 at 10:30 am.
