On October 27 the Women’s Network opened its 2019-2020 program with a High Tea. It was a huge success, with a wonderful turnout, and delicious food and tea to indulge in. The event was organized and coordinated by Beth Smith and Marlene Chait. A team of volunteers pitched in with the baking, sandwich making, serving food, cleaning, and other tasks. Bobbi Cohen contributed to the festive mood of this high tea by bringing enough hats for everyone to wear. The group was also enlightened by guest speaker Mitchell Glassman, the Board Chair from the Manna Food Center in Gaithersburg. His organization’s mission is to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County, through food distribution, education and advocacy. All in all, this event kicked-off the new program year with a bang.
