About 40 attended the Omer Project event, “Moving Our Feet: Israeli Dance,” at Tikvat Israel on May 12.  The dancing and movement helped participants prepare physically and spiritually to receive the gift of Torah on Shavuot as part of the synagogue’s Omer Project.

The teenage Israeli dance troupe Yesodot performed a range of choreographed folk dances showcasing dance styles from the founding of Israel to modern day Israeli hip hop. The performance was held in honor of Israel Independence Day, Yom Ha’atzmaut.

Matthew Kaminow, in blue costume, was the lone TI performer. Not shown is TI’s Hannah Smith.

Attendees also had the opportunity to learn several Israeli dances.
