Five berths on the Tikvat Israel Board of Directors must be filled by popular vote in December at a pair of congregational meetings.
The half dozen seats on the board — all for two-year terms beginning in January — are held by the following incumbents: Michele Eisenberg, Jay P. Goldman, Kelcey Klass, Rob Kline and Bob Silverstein. Several are expected to vie for re-election for another two-year stint, but additional nominees from the membership ranks will be accepted from the floor at the first of the two congregational sessions.
A nominations meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7 in the social hall. The voting will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20 in the sanctuary.
Any member of the synagogue interested in running for office should contact nominations committee members Rodney Matheson or Jonathan Solomon prior to the first meeting.
Those serving as officers, such as President Melanie Grishman, are in the middle of their two-year terms. They are not subject for re-election until December 2016.
