Tikvat Israel ECC is thrilled to have achieved accreditation from Maryland State Department of Education for the first time. We are the only Jewish preschool in Montgomery County and one of only three Jewish schools in the state to have received this prestigious recognition. Maryland Accreditation is a process in which programs commit to continuous quality improvement to benefit children, families and staff. The process includes evaluation of program policies, procedures, school operations, and family and community engagement.
The ECC started the self appraisal process in 2020. We formed a committee to determine what areas of our program needed improvement. The staff submitted their training and education to be credentialed by the state. We continued to evaluate and improve our program. The process came to a culmination on November 16 with a validation visit from the Maryland State Department of Education where two validators visited the classrooms and school to ensure alignment with Maryland Accreditation standards.
We could not have accomplished this without the outstanding teachers and staff who are committed to Tikvat Israel ECC and providing excellent early childhood education. We are so proud to be a part of affording the children with the highest level of education possible .
