More than 100 people attended a screening of the Israeli film “The Farewell Party” at Tikvat Israel on Jan. 30. Laughter and tears were both part of the response to this witty and touching film that explored friendship, assisted suicide and knowing when to say goodbye. After the film participants grabbed a nosh and discussed the film with Dr. Eric Zakim, associate professor of Hebrew and comparative literature at the University of Maryland in College Park.
