The annual concert organized by Cantor Rochelle Helzner will reunite her on the stage with the Robyn Helzner Trio, a group led by her sister, a professional entertainer. The event is set for 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Tikvat Israel Congregation, 2200 Baltimore Road, Rockville, Md.
The concert, carrying the theme “Let There Be Light,” will celebrate Hanukkah, which begins one week later.
The Robyn Helzner Trio performs a repertoire of authentic Jewish music in Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino and English. Robyn Helzner performs World Jewish Music at venues around the world.
Cantor Helzner, who will serve as a guest entertainer, last performed with the trio on the occasion of her 25th anniversary as the shul’s hazzan 10 years ago. The cantor most recently performed alongside her sister on the synagogue concert stage on March 30, 2014.
