Twenty Tikvat Israel members journeyed to Baltimore on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, to tour the Jewish Museum of Maryland and the two synagogues that flank the museum. The Jewish Museum of Maryland is America’s leading museum of regional Jewish history, culture and community. It is located in downtown Baltimore, blocks from the Inner Harbor. The landmark historic sites on either side of the museum are the Lloyd Street Synagogue, built in 1845, now the nation’s third oldest surviving synagogue and B’nai Israel Synagogue, built in 1876 and still home to a vibrant congregation. This trip was co-sponsored by Tikvat Israel’s Adult Education Committee and the Outdoors Havurah.
