Congregants Marcelle and Robert Copaken established a fund in memory of their son Jeremy through the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation. Each May the “Kindness Award” is given in memory of their beloved son Jeremy, a member of the Rockville High School Class of 1994, who died unexpectedly on Dec. 6, 2014, at the age of 39.
This year the “Kindness Award” was presented to Michael Gottlieb, who graduated from Rockville High School this May, by the Copaken family. He was chosen by a committee of teachers and counselors for his numerous acts of kindness.
