Elana Moss, Education and Youth Programming Director, organized a family Zoom Conferencing Lag BaOmer celebration. Several families joined the online celebration with dinner in hand. Each attendee was provided with a s’more kit to help with the celebration. Some families made their s’mores the traditional way over a fire while others made theirs in the microwave or oven. The celebration was enhanced with guitar playing and songs by Cantor Helzner.
Other congregants celebrated Lag BaOmer by driving through the Tikvat Israel parking lot to pick up food ordered from Dougie’s BBQ. Rabbi Israel provided handouts on the holiday. Sally Kram reported “my family loved the food and handouts which we read as Sophia displayed a picture of a bonfire on her phone (safer than an actual bonfire).”
