Larry Marc Levine, a longtime member of Tikvat Israel, will hold a one-person photography show from Sept. 5 through Nov. 24 at the Sandy Spring Museum titled “Creativity, With a Capital WHY?”
Levine will be on hand for an artist reception, open to the public, from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15. He will be joined by fellow TI members Shirley Waxman and Bobbi Gorban, who will demonstrate their artistic talents.
Waxman and Gorban are among the more than 30 individuals whose images appear in Levine’s show. Two other members of Tikvat Israel – Marnina Cowan and Miriam Gardsbane – also appear in the exhibit.
The Sandy Spring Museum is located at 17901 Bentley Road in Sandy Spring, Md.
Levine retired in January 2017 after a nearly 36-year career as staff photographer for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro). “Retirement has given me the time to work on ideas for photography projects that I have wanted to explore for years,” he says. “I have always been interested in watching creative people at work. I also wanted to explore why they do what they do.”
