Tikvat Israel ended its 2018 season in the Montgomery County Synagogue Basketball League by losing a close playoff game to Congregation Beth El, 65-61, in mid-March. Tikvat Israel’s Year of Science Committee brought us a full, thought-provoking weekend focused on science and religion to the congregation March 9-11. Scholar’s Weekend 2018 began with a Shabbat evening service, Shabbat dinner and an interactive talk with our keynote speaker Rabbi Geoffrey Mitelman, founding director of Sinai and Synapses in New York.
