TI’s Charity Group Funds a Dozen Global and Local Causes

The synagogue’s Tzedakah Havurah recently distributed more than $4,000 in charitable funds to 16 human service and social service organizations locally and globally. Congregation Adopts Its Budget for Next 12 Months

Tikvat Israel members approved a $1.64 million budget for the next 12 months at a June 28 congregational meeting. The new budget, which covers July 1 through June 30, 2016, raises to full-time status the positions of rabbi and youth/educator director. Both had been half-time positions. New Youth/Education Director Joins TI

Rachel Denrich has been hired as Tikvat Israel’s new youth and education director, beginning July 1. Rachel Denrich A Baltimore native, she is returning to Maryland after four years in California as a Jewish educator and youth programmer. Storage Room Clean-up

On Sunday, June 28, Alan Apter gathered a crew of people to clean out and reorganize the storage area next to the sanctuary.
