Judy Davis, long-time TI member (and flautist in many TI musical productions), has been selected for inclusion in the Maryland Senior Citizens’ Hall of Fame.
Stephen M. Raucher, president of the Montgomery County Public Schools Retirees Association, was one of her two nominees.
Raucher, a Class of 2013 Hall of Famer, stated in his nomination letter: “She is always busy helping others: from orphaned teens living in foster care in need of tutoring, to new immigrants needing to learn English, to seniors needing a ride to their medical appointments, to shut ins who need some music and human company in their lives, This outpouring of love and service even extends to stray dogs, that she rescues and fosters until they can find a good home.”
Davis retired in 2005 from the National Institutes of Health, where she served as an immigration specialist for the International Exchange Visitor Program. In her 15 years with NIH, she was responsible for more than 265 foreign scientists, dealing with every facet of their integration into American society.
Prior, Davis was a case worker, specializing in newcomer resettlement for the Jewish Social Service Agency and taught adult education in the Montgomery County Public Schools.
