I’ve realized the most difficult thing about having a Presidents’ blog, which is that so much happens at TI it is impossible to keep up and to acknowledge everything that needs acknowledging. One wonderful thing for me is that the Tikvat Israel Web Site crew are keeping the news coming fast enough that if I miss something, they’re already there with photos and the like — I was going to write about how wonderful the Cantor’s Concert was, but the news item, with its great pictures, got their first. Let me add my official thanks to Hillary Berman who chaired the committee, and Neil Newman who did a lot of the work in making sure we had a full house, a wealth of donors, and the right seats to sit in. Let me also thank the USYers and Scouts who helped out in the Cantor’s concert, and to the many volunteers who helped in organizing and running it (and thanks to Hillary for letting me stay outside to direct traffic, instead of having to come in and usher on such a gorgeous day). And a special thanks to Larry Gorbin and his crew for setting up the reception – I can’t wait to see the next appearance of the mysterious chocolate fountain!
Our Hazak group continues to go from strength to strength (Hazak, Hazak!) – congrats to all its members and to Sarah Harris for her leadership of the group.
Yasher Koach too to Ronen Lautman for spending his Spring break working in Louisiana for the continuing hurricane relief effort. It’s nice to see our congregations commitment to social action picked up by its youth. For more info on Ronen’s trip, look, where else, in the News section of the Web Site.
Gotta run, have to go teach a class and then fly up to Albany to give a talk, but I’ll be back for Shabbat and see you there
